CAM Funds Wilberforce University, the Nation’s Oldest HBCU
Wilberforce University is a four-year accredited liberal arts institution and the nation’s oldest private, historically black University owned and operated by African Americans. Wilberforce used CAM’s $4.5M term loan to restructure their existing debts in order to take advantage of the federal HBCU loan forgiveness program, which put the university back on sound financial footing.
Wilberforce University prides itself on being the intersection of history and a promising future. Twenty-five academic concentrations are available in business, communications, computing and engineering sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. The university knows that students will find academic success when they build their spiritual values, ethics, integrity, and honesty. Strong personal values paired with a quality and challenging education produce empowered individuals ready to lead.
In order to be eligible for the federal loan forgiveness program, Wilberforce utilized CAM’s term loans for universities program in order to restructure their debts. In doing so, the university was able to forgive $375,000 of student loans for graduates of 2020 and 2021. These students received a fresh start towards a successful future.
